We've joined together to lift more than 1 million Californians out of poverty.

California’s most vulnerable residents are struggling to stay in their homes, buy food, and survive because the SSP, the state’s supplement to the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program, was cut in 2009 to make up for a budget shortfall during the recession. We need to restore those cuts in order to bring elderly Californians and people with disabilities up to the federal poverty line.

Californians for SSI (CA4SSI) is a statewide coalition of SSI advocates and organizations across the aging, disability rights, housing and homeless, anti-hunger, and anti-poverty sectors. We see the suffering that our most vulnerable residents are facing every day and we seek to ensure that they receive adequate support to live their lives in dignity.
